ABOUT ME
Hi! I am Tanmay and just like you, I am one of those people whose mind wanders into places far beyond this planet. With our eyes gradually moving away from the sky, towards our smartphones and computers, I seek to passionately cling to the sky and beyond.

I have always been one of those kids who questions everything. At 10, I used to sit at my window gazing at the airplanes wondering about their seamless flights into the sky. At 11, I fuelled my curiosity by reading astronomy magazines, scrapbooking interesting facts. Two sessions, a NASA visit, and many telescopic observations later, I was totally engulfed by the vast universe of comets, planets, stars and beyond – it was impossible to untangle myself. Fast forward a few years and I am here, 21, seeking to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering, writing this blog to share my love for astronomy and inspire you to delve deeper into my universe!
The Space Stop is a one-stop place to explore the limitless universe lying beyond the frontiers of earth.

WHY?
My five-year-old brother asked me a simple question during one of our telescopic observations, “Why do the stars float in the sky?” The question was laced with childhood curiosity, but I could not answer it. I realized, however, that these silly questions are important. It forces us to keep exploring, keep learning. Even today, humans have observed about 0.000000001% of the universe. This number highlights the vastness of space and signifies the power wielded by a curious mind. Eugene Cernan (an astronaut), during his Apollo 17 mission said, “We went to explore the Moon, and in fact discovered the Earth.” The idea for this page stems from a basic urge – to find answers and to share answers. I want to develop a platform where like-minded people can bond over celestial trivia rather than coffee.

YOU ARE HERE.
This humbling excerpt from Carl Sagan’s book about the Pale Blue Dot can be your motivation to explore - "Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives.” Remember, the stars are not just a connection to the world beyond, they are our greatest overlooked treasures. Let's make it a point to never stop appreciating our place in this universe.
Simply, Keep Looking Up!
